if you dont want injuries to ankles and such then combat boots would be best fosho, but, they are possibly the most painful footwear to run in, but then also they keep u feet warmer and waterproof. I still like my nike trainers tho, nice for sliding.

I wear boot/traainters for work and paintball. they are way lighter than boots and damn they are comfy! They are also waterproof so your getting the best of both. They come up to my ankle, i would say a little higher than trainers so you get a little anle suppport...
